Agribusiness Consulting Rooted in Decades of Grain Industry Experience

AGID is the specialized grain management technology partner built to close the gap between breakthrough AgTech and the grain operators that need it. We combine 40+ years of grain industry experience with hands-on commercial and diagnostic expertise to make better technology decisions across the USAC grain value chain.

Our Mission:  The endless pursuit of eliminating waste in the USAC grain value chain.

Waste shows up in every link of the grain chain: spoilage in storage, contamination missed at intake, profit lost to margin-eroding quality problems, and breakthrough technology that never reaches the operators who need it most. AGID exists to eliminate that waste through technology, data, and the commercial discipline required to put both into practice.

Why We Built AGID

For decades, the way grain technology was sold to elevators, processors, and commercial grain operators made adoption harder than it needed to be. Products were bought one at a time, evaluated in isolation, and rarely implemented in ways that actually changed the operation. Meanwhile, AgTech partners with breakthrough solutions couldn’t find a path into the market, stuck in 4 to 14 month sales cycles driven by prospect organizational complexity, paying 35 to 60% generalist distributor margins, watching funding burn without traction.

AGID was founded to bridge that gap. We bring together previously unavailable grain technologies (molecular diagnostics, storage monitoring, digital grading, mycotoxin detection) into a unified, synergistic system that gives operators continuous visibility, predictability, and control. And we give AgTech partners a purpose-built channel partner program to reach those operators without burning through capital or diluting equity.

Our leadership team has spent careers on every side of this industry: merchandising grain, running P&Ls on diagnostic portfolios, building commercial organizations at the companies AgTech partners compete with every day. That’s why AGID doesn’t sell products. We help grain operators build the internal capability to use the right ones, and we help AgTech partners build the commercial infrastructure to get there.

Leadership

Chris Seward is the Founder of AGID, focused on transforming how grain is measured, monitored, managed, and ultimately merchandised across the supply chain.

With more than 20 years of experience in grain merchandising, quality, and diagnostics, Chris has worked closely with elevators, processors, and commercial grain operators, both domestically and internationally, developing a deep understanding of how variability in quality and storage directly impacts profitability. His career has been centered on improving decision-making at the intersection of grain operations, quality, and merchandising.

Chris founded AGID to address a critical gap in the industry: the lack of practical AgTech solutions for costly, everyday grain problems. AGID creates a path for breakthrough AgTech to reach the market and solve previously unsolvable problems. AGID brings together previously unavailable technologies into a unified, synergistic system that enables continuous visibility, predictability, control, and new tools for profit. Through the development of the Ag Passport System™, he is leading the effort to create a trusted, real-time record of grain identity, condition, and risk.

His work is focused on applying technology, data, and predictive intelligence to reduce uncertainty, improve decisions, and unlock measurable profit across the grain lifecycle.

Nick Davala is the Chief Marketing Officer of AGID, responsible for building the commercial engine that connects proven grain technology to the elevators, processors, and AgTech partners who need it.

A strategic and tactical marketer with more than 25 years of experience in diagnostics and commercial operations, including more than a decade dedicated to the food safety and grain industries, Nick has led sales, product management, and marketing functions across the full commercial arc. His work spans portfolio P&L, product launch, strategic account direction, channel partner development, and integrated marketing program design.

Nick joined AGID to translate breakthrough AgTech into measurable grain industry adoption through disciplined go-to-market strategy. He brings hands-on experience across the commercial disciplines that drive AgTech adoption: account-based marketing, channel partner program design, integrated demand generation, and competitive intelligence. He holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship & Marketing from Babson College’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Biomedical Technologies from the University of Vermont.

At AGID, Nick leads marketing strategy, channel partner program development, and integrated demand generation, applying commercial discipline to close the gap between agricultural innovation and grain industry implementation.
